Roadrunners, snakes, jackrabbits, prairie dogs, hummingbirds, and horned toads are just a few of the animals with which I became enamored while growing up in southern New Mexico. The deep, spiritual connection I experienced through my fondness for and fascination with these creatures brought a sense of magic to my world.

The spacious rural landscape in which I lived provided miles of open country and desert to roam. The eclectic blend of flora that thrived in that environment – pecan orchards, willow trees, century plants, yucca, and prickly pear – has had as powerful an influence on me as the native fauna. This relationship with the natural environment of New Mexico often presents itself in the themes and subject matter of my work. The aesthetics I embrace are reflective of my background in graphic design and take on a narrative/illustrative quality wherein I express my spiritual connection to the land.
